Thousands of websites are "blacked out" today in a sign of protest against SOPA & PIPA. From some of the most influential sites on the planet -- like Wikipedia.org, Reddit.com and Craigslist.org -- to smaller, less influential sites -- like WeBenFresh -- today, proponents of free speech are making their voices heard. I am unable to "black out" the site but after the last post earlier there will be no more posts today.....I had forgotten about it. Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.
What does this mean for you? Essentially all websites that support user uploaded material would be in danger. This includes YouTube, Facebook, and of course WeBenFresh.com and all other music websites.
The Senate will begin voting on January 24th. Please let them know how you feel. Sign this petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before it is too late, and go here to contact your representative.
